Uqora vs Wisp vs HUM vs Love Wellness - Best UTI Prevention Pills

HUM vs Love Wellness vs Uqora vs Wisp: What Are The Best UTI Prevention Pills?

Uh oh…you think you have a urinary tract infection (UTI) so your gut reaction is to run to the grocery store to grab cranberry juice. Despite popular belief, cranberry juice will not treat a UTI or bladder infection. According to Medical News Today, while cranberries do have an active ingredient that could be effective in washing bacteria from your bladder, cranberry juice is not really concentrated enough to provide any special benefit.

And if you think you are getting a UTI, you are not alone — urinary tract infections are one of the most common types of infection and account for around 8.1 million doctor visits annually! Getting a UTI is no walk in the park either – symptoms include a strong and frequent urge to urinate, nausea, vomiting, and muscle and abdominal pain.

While UTIs are typically attributed to women, men can also get them!

There are lots of ways you can prevent UTIs such as drinking lots of water, showering over bathing, and avoiding fluids that may irritate the bladder, but are those precautions enough to ensure you won’t get another?

Enter UTI prevention pills.

These pills can be integrated into your daily routine and will lessen your chances of having to ever deal with another UTI. Even better, online companies like Uqora, Wisp, HUM and Love Wellness now make it easier than ever to get these treatments. You can see that Wisp, HUM, Love Wellness and Uqora all have different pricing, active ingredients – and vary in how you get them. Wisp offers medicines that require an online doctor’s visit, which they can provide as part of the treatment plan for you, right from the comfort of your home. HUM, Love Wellness and Uqora have supplements that do not require a doctor to get involved. Let’s dig in more to compare these treatment options.

How HUM and Love Wellness are different – and the same

HUM and Love Wellness both have extracts from cranberries (proanthocyanidins to be more specific.) Love Wellness also has a second active ingredient in their product. Again, you don’t need a doctor’s prescription to purchase either.

Are proanthocyanidins legit?

We did a look to see if there had been actual medical research conducted into the proanthocyanidins and if they can work to prevent urinary tract infections. The great news is that there is some real medical research that shows that this compound can help reduce the occurrences of UTIs.

For example, a study published in the medical journal Current Bioactive Compounds showed that, in a study of 60 women, the women treated with the proanthocyanidins showed less bacteria and reported symptomatic relief as well. So, HUM and Love Wellness have some basis in science for their treatment ingredients.

Do the probiotics in HUM’s supplement prevent UTIs?

HUM Nutrition

HUM takes it a step further than Love Wellness, and also has some probiotics – specifically, probiotics that are supposed to improve the bacteria balance in your bladder. These probiotics are called “Lactobacillus,” and they are helpful/safe bacteria often found in healthy females. There are a few studies that indicate that Lactobacillus can help reduce the occurrence of urinary tract infections.

For example, this meta-analysis in the Canadian Journal of Urology found, “A statistically significant decrease in rUTI was found in patients given Lactobacillus.” So it seems like Lactobacillus probiotics may be helpful to some women – plus, that analysis also seemed to indicate that they were safe, which is pretty important! However, it also seems that more studies are really needed to prove the effectiveness of this probiotic.

Is Uqora’s urinary tract infection prevention supplement legit?

Uqora UTI Prevention Pills

Uqora’s supplement contains several ingredients that the company claims can help support a healthy urinary tract by “cleansing” the biofilm that can build up down there. The active ingredients in their Control supplement are: D-Mannose, Curcumin, Green Tea Extract (95% Polyphenols), Black Pepper. Does this stuff work, and is it legit?

The first ingredient in Uqora’s supplement is D-Mannose. We looked for clinical studies that demonstrated that this works in people; at first we could only find research that says it can help reduce some bacteria in rats. However, we did eventually find a pilot study that suggested it could help with acute urinary tract infections. It seems like the science is still being done on this ingredient; there is some legitimate hope that it will help, but the data isn’t there yet.

Next is Curcumin, which is an herbal product that comes from the spice turmeric. But does it work to help stop UTIs? There is some research that suggests that it could help reduce bladder infections, but the research we found was done in rats, not people. Again, promising but early data.

Green tea seems to be the most studied of the compounds in Uqora’s product. A study in Frontiers in Microbiology called, “Green tea as an effective antimicrobial for urinary tract infections caused by Escherichia coli“ attempted to find out if it was plausible that green tea could help treat urinary tract infections. The authors’ research indicates that it is possible that one of the antimicrobial components of green tea could make it all the way through to the bladder and could possibly help control infections. That’s pretty promising.

Finally, black pepper is also being studied as a possible aide in preventing these infections. We did find a study — not in humans, but in a petri dish — showing that black pepper could be beneficial.

Our thoughts are that their product has a number of ingredients that show promise in helping prevent UTIs. However, the science isn’t fully there yet. So, if you are open to trying something new and not completely proven it could be a good experiment – maybe it will work for you.

Are Hello Wisp’s UTI prevention treatments legit?

Wisp Pills

Wisp’s core offering is a little different than the others. As a D2C telemedicine company, Wisp has doctors on staff ready to he you online – through your web browser – and who can prescribe antibiotics to treat your urinary tract infection. These are real, licensed doctors who are able to prescribe a variety of FDA approved antibiotics like Ciprofloxacin (Cipro), Trimethoprim /  Sulfamethoxazole (Bactrim) and Nitrofurantoin (Macrobid). There is obviously real medical science behind these treatments. The biggest advantage of Wisp over Uqora, HUM and Love Wellness is the fact that antibiotics are seriously proven to work, and that you can have a follow up appointment with your online physician if you have questions or need more help.

Wisp also has a probiotic supplement that you can take to help try to prevent UTIs. This also has the Lactobacillus probiotic that we mentioned when we reviewed HUM’s product. Again there is some indication that this may help prevent infections, so you may want to include it if you try Wisp’s telemedicine doctor’s visit to treat a UTI. They can also send you a boric acid suppository that is an over the counter vaginal suppository that can act as an anti-fungal and antiseptic, which is  supposed to help relieve symptoms and prevent yeast infections.

Finally, for an extra $15, your Wisp doctor can prescribe a yeast infection treatment as well. Use code FIN33 to get 33% of their first order from Wisp!

What are users saying about Uqora, Wisp, HUM and Love Wellness?

While we should all be a little skeptical of user stories online — after all, what works  for one woman’s vagina isn’t necessarily going to work for the next — but let’s review them nonetheless to see how actual customers talk about these brands.

Reviews of Uqora’s online: What are customer saying about Uqora?

Uqora’s website features multiple reviews from verified buyers about the success they have had with their product. Out of 5,393 reviews, 4,685 gave a 5-star rating.

However, there are a small number of users that tried out Uqora’s products for a month and still ended up with a UTI at the end. It’s important to remember that no single treatment will work for everyone. That said, most customer reviews of their Control pill mention being UTI free.

Reviews of Hello Wisp:  What are customer  saying  online  about Wisp?

According to TrustPilot, 95% of the reviews for Wisp were excellent and only a handful are negative.

All the negative reviews were in regards to being unable to get in contact with them, but all reviews were addressed directly by Wisp support, which is a strong sign  of responsiveness. Overall, most users of Wisp appear extremely happy with their  experience on Wisp’s telemedicine platform. For many women suffering from a painful UTI, Wisp allowed them quick access to a professional treatment, which  sounds like a real life saver.

Reviews of HUM:  What are customers saying about HUM “Private Party”?

HUM has an array of products to offer, but their UTI prevention pill, “Private Party”, is also offered on Sephora and Revolve. Sephora shoppers gave it a 4.3/5 stars and 100% of them would recommend it, while Revolve shoppers gave it all 5 stars!

One reviewer said they noticed a change within 3 days of using the pill.

Love Wellness Reviews: What are customers saying about Love  Wellness for UTI prevention?

For Love Wellness’ “UTI Don’t Think So” pill, their reviews were a bit more mixed. For most people, they didn’t see any positive results with the pill and did not think it was worth the price. But at the time of their review, the price had been $24.99 and has since been reduced to $9.99.

The Verdict: Which UTI Prevention Pill should you choose -- Uqora, Wisp, HUM, or Love Wellness?

Choosing the right UTI prevention product really comes down to the acuteness of your symptoms (how bad are they right now and in general?), how often you get them, and the treatment path that works  best for your lifestyle.

For less than $10, Love Wellness offers an attractive UTI prevention pill. It’s formula includes a cranberry extract, for which there is some science linking it to improved vaginal health. Their “UTI Don’t Think So” supplement is for women who are dealing with recurring infections and don’t want to overspend on fighting them.

There are  other pills with all-natural ingredients like green tea and a turmeric extract that have shown promise to promote vaginal health, but lack any real scientific evidence. Uqora’s Control pill falls into this category, but with thousands of satisfied customers leaving 5-star reviews, they clearly have a formula that works well for most women. They exclusively focus on UTI  treatments, which we really appreciate and puts them a  notch ahead of Love Wellness in our book.

Like Love Wellness, HUM’s UTI prevention pills also have a cheeky name (“Private  Party”) and contain cranberry extract. The difference is HUM’s inclusion of a probiotic is meant to help bolster your body’s good bacteria. We recommend HUM’s “Private Party” if you are constantly fighting UTIs and want to see if you can jolt your system into a better state. It’s a bit more expensive, but it does pack a stronger one-two punch  against urinary infection.

Finally, if you have a real UTI, right now, you probably need to talk to a doctor. And Wisp offers a simple way to get in front of a real, licensed physician without leaving your couch. They’ll diagnose your condition and get you antibiotics, probiotics, yeast infection treatments, boric acid suppositories, and more…  on the SAME DAY as you order it.

That’s right. If you are looking for your own personalized UTI doctor, Hello Wisp offers an amazing service. They save you an in-person trip and instead prescribe all the same UTI prescription treatments virtually. We’ll re-emphasize that they make all their medications available for same day pick up, which is  exceptional even among telemedicine startups, and critical for anyone suffering from a UTI! The beauty of Wisp’s subscription plan is that in addition to a daily probiotic supplement, they make is easy to prevent painful symptoms by catching and treating infections earlier, before they get uncomfortable.

Out of all the UTI prevention products, we like Wisp’s approach most, but we understand it might be too expensive (Use code FIN33 to get 33% off and your first  month free!) If you’re looking for a simple daily pill that won’t break the bank, start with HUM’s “Private Party” or Uqora’s “Control” first. If  they don’t work  for you after a few months, try Love Wellness’ “UTI Don’t Think So”. Whatever you choose, let us know about your experience in the comment below 🙂
